Peace and Prayer.....(still praying for my husband)

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

For the first 10 years of our marriage, we worshiped in the Anglican Church.  It is the denomination into which my husband was born, it is the fellowship into which my husband’s family entered as émigrés, the place where we met, where the parish priest christened our children and blessed our home.  Each Sunday, after readings from the Old Testament and the Gospels, we Pass the Peace…proclaiming our faith and declaring our peace with God and with one another.  On this day, I pray my husband’s continued peace.

Peace ain’t easy…particularly the surpassing all understanding variety. There is so much in life threatening peace, internally and externally.  I am thankful, both for my husband and my family for Our Source.  We are not disconnected.  We are not alone.  Our instruction is as follows, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

So, thank You, Lord for a praying man of peace.  Often, it is he who calms me, soothing, reminding me that he constantly prays for my life, my security, my joy, our remarkable children.  I am abundantly blessed, even through my storms.

He is as essential to me as SALT.
