Don't you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win!
1 Corinthians 9:24 (NLT)
|the world's largest mirror is made of salt|
10 days and nearly a third of the way into my commitment of sacrificial prayer for my husband, today I am thanking God that my husband is called, not driven.
Being driven gets a bad rap. According to Mark Oestreicher, youth minister and partner in an organization called The Youth Cartel, (I’m defining passion as a calling for purposes of this discussion…)
“ being driven coerces us. Passion seduces us; being driven guilts us. Passion is invitational; being driven is prescriptive. Passion is inquisitive; being driven is punitive. Passion is full of emotion; being driven is cold and calculating.”
This morning I thank God that the man I love is called. He knows his mind, and even when things are unclear, he lives his passion, and enjoys what he does. I think that is exceptional, and while I was talking to God, I thanked Him for that too.
As always, I pray for his health, his strength, his spirit and his joy.
Lord, in Your Mercy, hear all of our prayers.
