So, I feel like I’m last to join the party, but
I’m reading William P. Young’s The Shack. It’s a punch to the gut since the principal
lesson is to let go of any notion that we have any other responsibility than to
say Yes.
“Return from your
independence…Give up being his judge and know Papa (God) for who he is. Then
you will be able to embrace his love in the midst of your pain, instead of
pushing him away with your self-centered perception of how you think the
universe should be.”
I find myself regularly frustrated with God
because I believe I know how things are supposed to be. However, it is the
times when I have just been available, often as a result of exhaustion,
confusion, or hurt and the resulting inability to do much of anything, when He
has shown up magnificently in my life.
For all those times, wouldn’t it have
been easier to just say Yes?
