OK,
are you ready? Come on and join the fun!
Therefore,
since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off
everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us
run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
Hebrews 12:1(NIV)
GO:
Dive…
I may be one of the most careful people you’ll ever meet. I am spontaneous
and free with those I love, but I draw a tight circle around myself. Socially,
I’m not one to dive in. However, the experience of being part of the God-sized
Dream Team has forced me out of my comfort zone. Way out. I’ve been forced to
dive into the deep end of my faith and join my lot to a bunch of strangers.
Except that they’re not. Strangers, that is. These are sisters I never
knew I had. Faith drew us away from where we were towards one another. I have
dived in. I thought I was lurking on the periphery, until I noticed that people
were responding to me, welcoming me, calling me by my name (friend of God,
sister). I am by nature a shy girl. I like to lurk. Faith, and a desire for
communion, made me dive in. To be bold. To acknowledge that I am not alone. I’d
been feeling alone, out of sorts, really lost. I dived in, and am surrounded by
a great cloud-soft and puffy. I should never have been afraid to dive in. I
have found community. I have found home.
