Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

A love you can’t trust is a love I don’t want…
I was talking to my Gayle today about love in its many forms. We are honest with each other--as lovingly brutally honest as we soulfully know how to be. Believe it or not, being that honest is one of many ways in which we show our love. As I approach the experience of joining a team of dreamers, I am clear that we take a collective leap of faith. We must learn to love and trust another in order to succeed.
A love you can trust is a lot to expect from a bunch of strangers. We have things in common, but I’ve been here before…just last week I read the words of someone I thought was just like me. I may not know my sister-dreamers yet (I know some and they are wonderful), but I believe God’s collective Will for our lives brought us together. I am free to trust, free to love. I know there is a goodness in this plan, and I am ready to receive what God has in store for us all.
As if in confirmation, just today I read this declaration by Joel Osteen.
I DECLARE I am a people builder. I will look for opportunities to encourage others to bring out the best in them and to help them accomplish their dreams. I will speak words of faith and victory, affirming them, approving them, letting them know they are valued. I will call out their seeds of greatness, helping them to rise higher and become all that God created them to be
Today’s lesson in preparing to pursue my God-sized dream is learning to trust love, agape love. It is remembering to reaffirm what is true, what is right, what is just, what is lovely, all in the face of what is not. Because that is what He does. Because that is what He teaches us. Because we are called to be people builders, dream nurturers, calling out seeds of greatness and then watering, tending, and cultivating those seeds until they blossom, and bear fruit.
Because that’s the kind of girls we are, proud daughters of God. He is in control, and we follow where He leads, trusting love.
