(Deep) Roots

You cannot see my roots right now. We are living out of bags (AGAIN) refugeeing from yet another winter storm. You cannot see our roots right now. WE have the look of nomads, continually straying like sheep from location to location, charging electronics where we can, wandering from place to place to find fuel (in desperate short supply) making an effort to keep a normal life for ourselves, our children and our gracious hosts. Sandy has made us wanders. You cannot see my roots.

You cannot see my roots right now, but they are deep. I moan, complain, cry, but I am deeply rooted in the Father and in my Faith. Even at 1:30 in the morning, sleeping in someone's basement with my dog, I laughed and worship. You see, we have deep roots. Our parents planted the Gospel in my husband and O, sometimes deeper than we know, and it has sustained us through all things…health crises, storms, sorrow. Even now, sick and tired, I know that we shall not be moved; we're in too deep. we got roots...
