(Peace and) Quiet…

Welcome to Five Minute Friday.

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking (harder than it sounds)
2. Link back

3. Visit the person who linked up before
you & encourage them in their comments.
OK, are you ready? Come on and join the fun!

You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)

GO:

(Peace and) Quiet…

Thank God that You are in
control, Lord, and not me. I can't even be quiet…
I move too quickly. I do not take enough time to seek peace and quiet. I give myself the gift of running in order to create space to pray and seek His face. Life has turned on its head recently, and I haven't even had time to run. I had little quiet time. I had little peace. I was missing my time to connect with Him. In the silence. In the stillness. So, he stilled me.

Flu. Fever. Chills. Aches. I am not saying that getting sick was a punishment. I am saying that for me getting sick was a message…."Slow down. Be quiet. You are moving too quickly. You are not making space for quiet time. You may not be able to hear Me when I speak. Child, be still."

I make noise when I should listen. I need to learn to be quiet before I am made to be quiet. I am sorry, Lord. I did not mean to not listen to my body, listen to You. I am still now, quiet and listening. No, I am still making noise and now the timer has rung. I need to be quiet. Thank God that You are in control and not me. I can't even be quiet…
