Nothing that can harm you…

He stilled the storm to a whisper;
    the waves of the sea were hushed.
Psalms 107:29 (NIV)

I do not outrun my storms;
I am neither strong nor fast enough
...
nothing than can harm me.
I am sheltered by the Everlasting.

It’s felt like a series of one-two punch combinations around here lately. If it weren’t for faith, I’d be at the bottle or someone’s throat (NOT, but it makes you grateful for discipline and restraint). Thank God for faith which reminds me that nothing can harm me. This does not mean that storms will not come. This means that I am sheltered.

I ran this morning, to outrun the tiredness, the fatigue, the fear, the frustration. I didn’t program my music like I normally do, preferring to be free to hear a Word. Often the music speaks to my soul. Today, in silence, between songs, I heard. I do not outrun my storms; I am neither strong nor fast enough. I must remember to stand fast, knowing there is nothing than can harm me. I am sheltered by the Everlasting.

Life’s storms are not my battles. Did you hear me? Life’s storms are not our battles to fight. I’ve written this before;
The battle was not mine, but the blessings were. It was not my place to solve any problems. My sole responsibility was to lift praises to the Most High King, chill with my attitude in check, and watch Him move.
I believe the most difficult thing for a capable person to do is nothing. If you recognize yourself there…do something. Stay occupied. Do this…your sole responsibility is to lift praises to the Most High King, chill with your attitude (FIRMLY) in check, and watch. He moves to still the storm to a whisper, hushing both the waves of the sea and the fear within you. He moves. We are sheltered.

Thank God for faith which reminds me that nothing can harm me. This does not mean that storms will not come. This means that I am sheltered. My sheltering within the Everlasting; a powerful reminder that God is good.
