Lord, that was fast!

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  Nothing in all creation is hidden from Gods sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Hebrews 4:12-13 (NIV)

Once you get that God is alive, and invested, no intertwined in all we say and do and think, you stop thinking that praying is leaving messages that He will or won’t return in His time. You start understanding that worship is a conversation. Worship is a dance. Worship requires relationship. And, occasionally, when you lift an earnest prayer, sometimes without whispering a single syllable, it pierces His heart, and He moves. Fast.

By the time I posted You don’t have to cry, God had wiped all the tears, and replaced weeping with gladness.  I never doubted. I wrote the post as a love letter to two special people who inspire me and lift me, keeping me honest and making me want to be better. It was my gift to them. I’m sure I also wrote it as a reminder to me for the next time I need a boost.

My dad, God rest his soul, often preached about “being the God people can see.” He taught about the paradox of loving a God whom we’ve never seen while treating our fellow men so poorly. Are you living what you profess? Do the people who see you see the God in you?

It has been said that "friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." Fortunately, even when our wings won’t work, our prayers still fly to the heavens. Often, He moves before our Amen.

Lord, I thank You for all of it. I thank You that You are always there, always on, always available. Thank You for letting us converse with You. Thank You for the dance. Thank You that sometimes the answer arrives before the plea is completed. You are awesome. You are Omnipresent. You are Fast.
A prayer and an answer moving at the speed of the Son. Just another reminder that God is good.

On Wednesdays, I pray and and play with friends here...
