As they make music
they will sing,
"Zion, all of our blessings come from you."
"Zion, all of our blessings come from you."
Psalms 87:7 (NIRV)
We
spent the entire day sitting in the sun. Today it was restored; the child who’d
been away, the BFF back from vacation and my Gayle, fresh from her week with my
teen aged girl. Some of the most wonderful women in my life were together in my
life again, and we were sitting in the sun, listening to the music at a jazz
festival. In which my son played. It was a wonderful time, a beautiful day, and
all I could think was, all of our blessings come from You.
The
weather forecast had been dismal for today. Rain. Storms. They came, but they
did not linger. By 10 am the skies had
cleared. By 11 the ground was drying. There was every reason to believe it’d be
a perfect summer day. It was. I luxuriated in the sun and mused, “this is good.”
All our blessings come from You.
We
were our own massive tribe; there must have been twenty of us, laughing,
singing, moving to the music. How is it that so many friends came together to
support our young man? How is it that so many people want to encourage him,
nurture his talent, cheer him on? We celebrated the day and relished the
fellowship. There was nothing to complain about, so we did not. It was a
glorious day. Over and over again, it came to me-all our blessings come from
You.
All
of our blessings come from You. The sunshine, from You. The reuniting of mi
familia. Yours too. Music, yes. Fellowship, certainly. All good things around
us, sent from Heaven above reminded me this day to be glad. To give praises. To
give Thanks.
We
spent the entire day sitting in the sun, laughing, singing, praising You in
fellowship and joy. All I could think was all our blessings come from You,
Lord. This day, this feeling, this peace
came that from You, and belongs to You, is a steadfast reminder that no matter
what I have or I lack, no matter whether it rains or is sunny, my cup is never
empty. You, God, are good.
